Media

With the Magic Defeated…..and that Adulterer having another ring…. I am finally done with Basket Ball.

Ah but then….. World Cup began. And thanks to Univision’s streaming I can watch it. Sadly I may have to take off days of work to enjoy it. (They watch bandwidth and other stats here). – update. Enjoyed World Cup this year. Missed a lot of games cause of work. I may do a world cup centric post. I will be downloading some of the matches to re-watch on those rainy afternoons.

Lost Done…. And Flash Forward cancelled. My movie/television/video entertainment front was looking really grim. (On some levels)

Almost done with my rewatching of Babylon 5 (all seasons, doubt I will do the movies though). Sometimes I watch an episode a day. Other times I will mini marathon and knock out a whole disk. Always forget the quality of the show, until I watch it again. Great plotting in the story arcs, and fantastic one shot stories in between. I have a super crush on Lyta Alexander. (I wonder how old she is now)

Movies

Last movie I saw in theatres is uh…

Iron Man 2.
Overall a good movie. Suffers from stage II, sequalitius tho. Namely too many plots, too much going on. So you get the feel of sensory overload. But in this case all of the stuff is actually good and entertaining. Loved Whiplash, pretty good villain, really loved the Monaco scene. So, Gwyn Paltro is cool, (Her mom is hotter than her though) and then we have TL slayer Scarlett Johansson, she’s almost to potent….though I might also be in love with Robert Downey Junior too, now that I think about. The scene with his father really stood out for me, in contrast to the scene with whiplashes dang. Good stuff.

Now I usually don’t have too many movies I am anticipating or that I even see. (Nope even with free dowloads available I am not tempted to see most movies) But there are some coming out I would like to see.

Inception is that movie. Bit Leonardo DiCaprio minion too, always does a good job in his movies and Joseph Gordon-Levitt is in it too, hope the kid does good.

Next month is Scott Pilgrim vs the World. Not really a fan of Cena casting (though I will always like him cause of Arrested Development, though he gets tiresome sometimes), but because I like the source material I will be watching it. Knives Chau!!! :P

Expendables is coming out too but I fear it might just suck….. Sometimes multi-superstar movies don’t do well. Ocean’s Eleven did but hmmm this movie is giving me that “EEEEEEN” feeling

Writing

Writing has been hammer slammed for a long time now. I have very much fallen into chicanery. When work is heavy it wears on my brain and it shuts down. Oddly when I am emotionally distress (IE hammer slammed by a women) I write better. But work has the opposite effect. It gums up the pipes, the more tedious the work, the worse it is. Twitter is fine. But it’s terrible for concerted writing efforts. During my bout with Jakarutu I couldn’t even write in my blog. And what’s more I have to get done with the damn job first, which can take weeks. It’s like a mental barrier I cant get past. But I am trying.

I have started on my Nexus story. Got a good flow going. Also created a new story universe the Heroes Return universe. Details to come. Got a lot of stories planned for it.

Will I ever reach the point of completing a story and trying to self publish it? Not sure. I seem to be able to come up with

Futurist Fallout: The Coming Communications Gestalt

“Man, I wonder how high-tech our phones will be in the future. I bet they’ll be like all awesome super phones”

This foolishness is what I am talking about…..today on Futurist Fallout.

That is to say, no. There will not be any phones in the future. The phone is an animal on the endangered list ready to pass away into extinction. It’s stupid to even think they will survive…

Yeah that’s right! …….. Okay let me stop being an ass and get into it.

What will personal communications be in the future?




If one notices the trend today is towards smart phones. No duh. But this is just the symptoms of a coming evolution in personal data utility and communications. If one takes time to observe phones are becoming less and less phone and more and more a computer.

Indeed. I use my G1 phone for a variety of different functions, the LEAST of which is actually using it as a phone. And this my friends is where we are headed.

The old land lines and cell infrastructure will of course put up a valiant effort to remain in control and place a funneling cap on the money that pours into communications market daily. But the hold is slipping ever so slowly. And one day it will be in stiff competition with alternative methods to transfer thought-forms from one person to the next.

It is hard to say what format we will choose. Though wireless communication will soon be the key. I think though that Skype and other VOIP type software’s have presented us with a taste of what is to come. Yes. Communication and Data transmission will become synonymous rather than alternate lines.

Already in major cities Wifi is becoming a standard rather than an exception. The technology is firmly taking hold. Look at the propagation of 3G networks and even 4G networks. These are merely standards but they tend to encompass an ungraded ability to wirelessly transmit data. This is the key. The ability to send massive amounts of data wirelessly is growing, especially as the phones and tablets and computers themselves grow in power. (While miniaturizing)

Thus in the future. I don’t think there will be phones. But an integration of all applications and devices into a Network on your person. Your computer, media players, wallet, communications link, interface technology, internet, social networks, remotes controls, hell even keys, and of course your data will all be integrated into one Personal Area Network. Or PAN.

There will be no phones, just a network of utilities that you use about your person. Actually as things stand, we as a race, will be supersaturated with data! What more we will generate enormous amounts of data and people will of course feed off of this data. I can not say if this is a good or bad thing but it is coming, (well if society doesn’t downfall in the meantime)

I plan to go more into this phenomena in later articles. And other futurist predictions.

Not sure if many people realize this but I am a rather large fan of the Natural Sciences. I enjoy Nature in general terms, its essence, and just to observe it.

Been thinking of actually putting into production some exterior related projects I have been doing some research on.

I feel the need to put some work into my yard lately. I usually just let it grow for a while then cut it down. But you see I perform no maintenance on my yard. I dislike the idea of grass that Floridians devote so many resources and time to.

People don’t like weeds and other native plants. But I find these things actually quite charming. Not to mention they are able to survive the Florida harsh summer with minimal water drain on the total energy system. This is very important. It doesn’t seem like it but Florida’s fresh water resources are rather strained. And the idea of wasting perfectly good potable water on watering a damn lawn is anathema to me. Don’t even get me started on water conservation….but I digress. I know such talk turns some people off. I am a secret environmentalist at heart.

But any way I want to start a few things, a garden, first of all. A spider farm as well (~_^). But that is for another post. What I want to do right now is to start to spruce up my yard. But using mostly local/Florida based plants. Finding sources is not going to be that hard actually. There are many a yard still going untended by our financial collapse. I may have to poach materials from the many foreclosed properties around town. Feeding off of dead men’s dreams as it were (~_^)

But My dream is for my Yard to look like the secret garden. “The secret garden?” You say, “What is that?”

Well the secret garden is a place I found once at work. I was surveying a ladies yard doing an estimate on her house. I needed to get pictures of her exterior of her house. She let me out into the back saying “Please forgive my terrible backyard. It is unkempt. So I expected the worst. What I found as an emerald dream hidden in that worn down neighborhood. It was not the typical backyard of the drone-like “Dad shorts” wearing Sararimen we all become. It was a place of wild growth and beauty. Butterflies and bugs of all types flew about from flower to flower. Bees buzzed about pollinating their charges. (Do you know how rare bees are in our over productized factory yards?) Wild flowers and weeds bloomed everywhere. It spelled incredible too. I told her than she had one of the most beautiful back yards I had ever seen. This poor lady must have thought I was mocking her. (-_-);

That secret garden. This place that exists now only in my picture. Is what I seek to recreate in my own yard.

Grifter's Tip: Planning

I cant stress this enough.

In adittion to your Main plan you must have a Back-up Plan, a Contingency Plan, and an Emergency Plan.

If things are looking really iffy it is also advisable to have GOTH. A Gone to Hell Plan.

Degradation of Systems....

The problem is most people don’t distinguish between mystique and their universe.

Look at the most socially constricting Societies, like the Victorians. They created a certain way of life because of the trials and terrors they themselves went through.

But that system eventually degrades and dies. Why?

Because their children were brought up in the system but did not come to it as the parents had. Through trial.

They had been indoctrinated to it.

Thus they never made a choice for themselves they were never prepared to guard their minds against the movement of infinity. Thus the societies children became nothing more than empty figurines. Poorly adaptable to change. And nothing but corrupted copies of what their parents wanted for them.

Think about this when you consider when something is socially “appropriate.” There must always be that Test.

All I want to find is a decent Cape! Is that so hard to ask?

For some time now I have been trying to find a certain garment. A cloak or cape.

No not for Halloween or anything. But to wear about town. You see much like the cowboy hat or scabbard on the belt, I am trying to bring the Cape back into everyday fashion.

The cape is a grand garment, it invokes in a person a sense of dignity, odes to history and a time of honor, and it well just looks fething cool.

Seems strange to see a guy wearing a cape and a cowboy hat? Shit I see people walking around with those stupid ass looking Mohawks now so why is a cape strange? I mean if I had a Mohawk like those guys wear now I would have been laughed out of town in the 90s. Okay so maybe I was, F U C K you high school. Anyway back to the capes.

My problem has been trying to procure the right type of cape. There are many types, the cloak, the cape, different eras to consider, fabric, types of hang to consider. How will it match my clothes….

Ideally I want a Lando Calrissian cape, but the bedoiun styled desert cloak is kind of appealing. Old school Victorian Era? Not sure. I guess I need to procure a nice decorative cane as well.





Procuring a cape/cloak is another HUGE problem. I cant find a decent one to save my life. The ones you get online are iffy at best, I want something of real fabric and nice construction. The costume type stuff on the internet is not going to do. Might have to find a good tailor.

The million dollar idea!

In my life I have stumbled upon a few ideas that I just know, KNOW will make me rich.

Ah people think of a certain thing when they think of the Million dollar idea. But that is were we differ. Trust me, there are many million dollar ideas out there and many of them can be so mundane that you will consider shooting yourself in the head with rusty hollow point bullets because you didn’t think of it first.

Aye the best million dollar ideas are add-ons or slight mods to shit that already exists.

[]That little turkey baster that you can put in plants and auto water them…. Yep already patented and over a million dollars.

[]Spoon with fork modification, yep patented by some douche and he got super rich off of it,

[]New process for making ketchup bottles and saving 4 seconds in production time. Patented and rich as balls.

[]Dude decided hey lets put a trash can out side the Sonics, Mc Donalds drive through. Million bucks.

[]Hey if you make the beer/soda cans mouth a little wider, it pours better and is easier to drink. SUPER Rich now.

See I am always that guys that sees these things and thinks to myself. Wow that’s a million dollars right effing there. Then I punch my knee hard. Cause it was such a simple idea.

I myself have quite a few ideas that I think might just do it for me. (LOL you really think I am gonna tell you?). Got a few of them too. I actually have even forgotten 3 or 4 million dollar ideas. One of my ideas I though I saw in the “As seen on TVs” aisle at CVS. I almost died a little until I realized that it was, in fact, something that looked like one of my ideas but was total FAIL.
